We are a non-profit organization whose purpose is to promote a culture of Peace, with a focus on building spaces for dialogue and social justice, through the development and implementation of public policies, the promotion of education for Peace and research into the science of Peace.

Peace begins within ourselves. The question “when do I feel in peace?” is an important compass for us to begin to perceive and get to know this inner experience. At a time when more and more people are suffering from mental disorders or going through deep traumas, we need to broaden the debate on how we can live in a state of peace of mind or mental peace. Uncovering the peace within us is a duty.

To get through the sectarianism and growing polarization in society, we’re going to need a lot of tolerance and solidarity. Moreover, haste cannot be our purpose in life. We therefore believe that patience, trust, humility and loving action are essential values that permeate all our relationships and are fundamental to reach a culture of peace and constructive social transformation. We seek to move from what destroys to what builds.

We also believe that dialogue, through the suspension of points of view and pre-established opinions, is a path of hope. And dialogue doesn’t mean always agreeing, but wanting to find points of connection and being willing to change, or at least listen.

We believe that any discussion about peace should consider at least three different dimensions: internal, social and ecological.

The second layer of Peace concerns our relationships in the most diverse social circles. Peace is not and cannot just be an individual quest, because it is in living together that we can deepen and strengthen this experience. In a scenario of profound intolerance, be it political, religious, racial, ethnic, gender or any other form, it is urgent that we learn to live with and coexist with differences, recovering a sense of community and belonging. We are what we are because we are collective.

No less important is the ecological dimension, which concerns our relationship with the planet. Without the perfect ecological balance that exists on Earth, our existence here would be impossible. However, we live in times when an archaic and fossilized mentality still imposes a war on nature. We are already experiencing the effects of climate chaos and catastrophe and the massive loss of biodiversity. In order to maintain Life in its most varied forms and possible cycles, we need to transform the way we live. We are organic and we need to celebrate our biodiversity. This is a possible path to Ecological Peace, in which the eco is more important than the ego.

And an important way of integrating these three dimensions of Peace is through art. For us, art is human photosynthesis, as it nourishes our souls with beauty and creativity.
